Northampton Town signed Hungarian international defender Gábor Gyepes in January 2008. 6ft 3in Gábor, who has won 17 full caps (scoring once) and appeared for Hungary in their World Cup 2006 qualification campaign, joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on a permanent basis in December 2005 for £1 million from Ferencvaros - where he had made 112 appearances, having been on a six month loan deal at Wolves since the previous summer. However after being a regular at Molineux and making 24 appearances for Wolves, he suffered a knee injury and his contract was terminated by mutual consent so he could continue his rehabilitation in Hungary. When he returned to fitness, he came back to England to join Northampton Town.
