Stuart Gray was not happy after seeing his Northampton Town team draw 2-2 at Port Vale on Saturday.

"I was disappointed at half-time and I think in the first half we showed Port Vale a bit too much respect," he said.

"We didn't put their keeper under enough pressure and although we scored two very good goals they probably came a bit against the run of play.

"In the second half I think we did enough to win the game, Giles Coke and Ryan Gilligan both did very well and they were a bit unlucky they didn't get themselves on the scoresheet in the second half.

"Our season hasn't finished yet and I think we had one or two players in this game that weren't playing at the standard they've set themselves this season.

"I haven't got the biggest of squads but nobody is guaranteed a place in the first team and I will make changes for the game next week.

"The supporters were excellent again and the only disappointing thing was that we couldn't get a winning goal in front of them in the second half.

"I want to finish as high up the table as possible to make this club a more attractive proposition to possible future signings and I think we've thrown away two points in this game.

"It will be a tough game against Tranmere next week but we have been on a good run at home and we want to finish the season with a win."
