COBBLERS STAGE SUCCESSFUL FESTIVAL
The 6th Annual Pan-disability Football Festival was a big success, every one involved worked so hard to make the day a huge success and we would like to thank them all.
Without our sponsors the festival would not have been such a success, so a huge thanks to K. White painting and Decorating who sponsored the referees, and to Lee Warren Electrical Contractors who sponsored the matchday programme, and to Nsport & Special Olympics who sponsored the medals and trophies, but the biggest thank you has to be to Northampton Town who let us use Sixfields every year, we are the only league club in the country to host such an event on the main pitch.
The referees worked so hard without a break, they all did a great job. The scorers also did an amazing job and kept the score sheets up to date quickly and accurately, so a big thanks to you all.
Some of the teams that attended had the following to say: -
"Can I say thank you on behalf of everyone who came up from Plymouth. We had a great day; I have nothing but praise for you and your club. If only more teams could follow your lead (please give my thanks to Northampton Town)." Mark Haydon, Plymouth Argyle.
"All of our players had a wonderful day - although they had trouble fitting the huge trophy into the car. Thanks so much for having us."
Rob Seale, Football and Development Officer, Limbless Association & Chelsea FC.
The final results on the day were very close in both the Adult and Under 16 categories, but in the end Northampton Town won the Adult section and Chelsea won the Under 16 section.
Every one who attended received a medal and a certificate, and some great sportsmanship and team work was shown on the day, which we feel is more important than a trophy.
Lastly I would like to thank all of the teams that have supported us over the years and we look forward to playing you all again soon.
Neil Dowd, Disability Football Officer.
