Northampton Town defender Jason Crowe has signed a new two year contract.

The Bosman signing from Grimsby Town in the summer of 2005 has made over 90 appearances for the club.

"I am delighted to have agreed this new contract with Jason," said Cobblers boss Stuart Gray.

"He has been exceptional for us on a consistent basis and he is a quality player. He is a player who did attract interest from other clubs and we are delighted to have secured his signature.

"With there being interest in him from elsewhere, it is the right thing for Jason to do to explore that interest, but the fact that he wants to stay with us and we have beaten off that interest shows how ambitious we are and that quality players are keen to join or stay with us.

"Now we have added Jason to Chris Doig and Danny Jackman that is a further sign of our ambition and is another key player we have secured. I am delighted he has agreed to stay.

"This means we have an excellent base to build from and it is another piece of our planning in place. We have a number of quality defenders in the squad and we are continuing our work to strengthen further up the field."
