GILES IS THE MAN FOR GRAY
Northampton Town have signed Mansfield Town midfielder Giles Coke for a fee to be decided by a tribunal.
At the age of 16, Coke began his football career as a youth team player at Queens Park Rangers, where he swiftly moved into the reserve team.
However, he was not offered a professional contract at QPR, and was released. He moved to non-league Kingstonian.
In the spring of 2005, Coke was spotted by Mansfield, and signed his first professional contract within weeks of being at the Nottinghamshire club. He made his debut in league football on March 19 2005, starting in a high scoring game against Bristol Rovers.
He has rejected the offer of a new deal at Mansfield Town to make the move to Sixfields.
Although he is out of contract, as he is under 24 years of age, a fee will be required for his services and that fee will be decided by a Football League tribunal as Mansfield have rejected the offers made.
He has signed a 2 year contract at Sixfields.
