Northampton Town have signed former Wolves, Mansfield Town and Chesterfield striker Colin Larkin under the Bosman ruling.

Larkin joined Chesterfield in the summer of 2005 after being released by Mansfield Town just a few months before. In 2 years at Saltergate he started 66 games, with a further 24 substitute appearances, scoring 13 times.

He joined Mansfield for a £125,000 fee from Wolverhampton Wanderers back in 2002 and scored 26 goals in 70 starts for the Field Mill club, with another 36 substitute appearances.

In total, including a spell at Kidderminster, he has scored 47 goals in 169 senior starts.

The 25 year old, 5ft 9in Irishman has agreed a 2 year contract at Sixfields. He can operate as a central striker or as a wide player.
