Ian Henderson is hoping that the move to Sixfields will prove to be a successful move for him.

"I always look forward to a new start and that is what this is for me," he said.

"Hopefully I can get off to a good start, and can get jy fitness up as quickly as possible.

"Stuart Gray really sold the club to me and that helped make my mind up to come here. It is a good set up here and hopefully the club will grow over the next couple of years.

"Being a youngster at Norwich is a great grounding. You learn to be comfortable on the ball and that is a great base to build from.

"I enjoyed my time at Rotherham last season and it was a good experience for me. It was a test of character and it will stand me in good stead for the future.

"I have come here to help Northampton win games. It is physical in League One but that is the same in the Championship as well.

"League One is a good league this year, with clubs like Leeds and Nottingham Forest at this level. We are not here to make up the numbers, we are here to try and achieve something."
