Danny Jackman is hoping to put the disappointment of surrendering a lead behind him as the Cobblers embark on their Carling Cup campaign on Tuesday night.

"The penalty we conceded on Saturday was just one of those things and hopefully those sorts of things will even themselves out over the season," he said.

"It was one of those where if it goes for you, you are happy but if it goes against you, you are disappointed.

"Overall I think we were a bit disappointed not to win the game on Saturday, we created some good chances but their goalkeeper pulled off a couple of great saves.

"We were disappointed to concede the penalty just before half-time but we are creating chances and that is a good thing.

"I'm still settling into the team really, learning what the other players strengths and weaknesses are but that should come in the next few games.

"I didn't show it too much on Saturday but hopefully in games to come I will be able to push forward a bit more.

"I am really enjoying my time here and if we can put together a consistent run of results who knows what we can achieve this season. It's a tough league but apart from the top few teams I think pretty much all of the other teams are at the same standard.

"Every game is important for me, I want to do well for this club but the games against Gillingham will obviously have something a little bit extra to them for me.

"The pressure of the league is off for Tuesday night so hopefully we'll be able to go out and put in a good performance against Millwall and get through to the next round."
