Mark Hughes felt that the Cobblers were hard done by at Brighton on Saturday and got the rough end of the referee's decisions, but admits that is not the reason that the game was lost.

"We didn't think it was a free kick for their second goal but we should have just concentrated on getting into position rather than worrying about that," he said.

"We played really well in the first half but in the second half we just got involved in stupid things and didn't play.

"The Gaffer was disappointed because he knows what we can do, we showed that in the first half but in the second half we just didn't pass the ball enough.

"Things were maybe a bit too easy for us at the back in the first half but we need to make sure that we stay fully concentrated for the 90 minutes.

"We need to stay switched on and not let things like the referee get to us."
