JONES AT HOME IN LEFT BACK ROLE
Daniel Jones was not surprised to be handed the left back role for the Cobblers against Yeovil on Saturday, as he admits that playing as an attacking full back is his perfect role.
"To be honest left back is my favourite position," he said. "I love coming from deep and breaking and overlapping the midfield player. I think that with me on one side and Jason Crowe on the other we can cause teams problems.
"The result against Yeovil was a big disappointment. At times it was like a training game we were so much on top, but a couple of lapses cost us the game.
"I thought we battered Yeovil for most of the game but things went against us on Saturday. If we keep playing like that we will win far more than we lose.
"I was one of the lads to hit woodwork with a free kick just before half time. Jason Crowe said to me to aim for the far post and I delivered it thinking that the slightest touch would send it in, but on another day that might have dropped straight in.
"I was pleased to be named man of the match but the end result killed any satisfaction I felt from that.
"I am here until January at least and I am really enjoying it here. It is a great set up and we will have to see what the future holds.
"If we play like we did on Saturday I am sure we can cause Middlesborough some problems on Wednesday. We are capable of getting a good result up there and if we get the luck that Yeovil did on Saturday then you never know what might happen."
