GRAY CALLING FOR CONSISTENCY
Cobblers boss Stuart Gray is hoping that his players can start to add some consistency to their game. They are rated at 5/4 shots by bet365 to beat Hartlepool this weekend.
"We have shown in the past that we can bounce back after being beaten and I will be looking for us to show that we can do that again on Saturday," he said
"I was disappointed with our performance at Leeds, we gave a sloppy goal away just before half-time but we were always playing catch up and one of the reasons for that was that we didn't keep the ball well enough.
"We are going into a batch of games now that I think are very winnable games and three of our next four games are at home.
"We set out a team to try and win every game but unfortunately we have not performed well enough against the top teams away from home.
"That has been disappointing and if we want to be up there challenging we need to compete better against teams like Doncaster, Swansea and Leeds.
"We put in a very good performance against Millwall in our last home game but I always knew that if we didn't get that second goal Millwall could punish us and unfortunately we couldn't hang on for the three points.
"I think the sending off probably affected us more than it did them though because Poul Hubertz was playing well, his ball retention was good and he was causing them problems.
"Our home form has been good but we need to be a bit more consistent generally and we need to try and put back-to-back results together."
