COKE PLEASED WITH LATEST GOAL
Giles Coke was sure that the Cobblers deserved their 2-0 win over Oldham Athletic on Saturday.
"We struggled a bit in the first half but in the second half I think we put on a really good display and deserved the victory," he said.
"Even though we weren't at our best in the first half we still created some good chances and we maybe should have gone in at half-time ahead.
"My goal took a bit of a deflection but they all count and I was just pleased to get on the scoresheet.
"We were just simply the better side on the day and we were well worth our win. Our home form is quite good and I think a lot of people might say that it is hard for teams to come here and get a result.
"We can't get into the play-offs now but to be honest we always knew it was going to be a tough ask because we were relying on other teams results.
"I can't wait for next season now and hopefully if I can get a good pre-season under my belt I can really kick on.
"Everyone has got their expectations but I've just got to concentrate on my own game and hopefully I can do well for Northampton next season.
"I think we need to add a few faces to the squad in the summer but if we do that I see no reason why we can't do even better next season and make a real push for the top six.
"Even though we can't make the play-offs this season we are still going to give one hundred per cent in our two remaining games and we want to finish as high up the league table as we can."
