HUGHES SET TO BE READY FOR START OF PRE-SEASON
Mark Hughes is disappointed to have had to miss the last few weeks of the season, but says he will be fit for pre-season training.
"I am on the mend and I am sure I will be ready for the start of pre-season on June 30th," he said.
"In the last few weeks I have had to rest and I have been going for scans to see how the injury is progressing.
"I had a dead leg at Walsall and a blood clot formed. It was on my thigh and it could have been dangerous. The advice was for me to take my time, not rush back and make sure I was ready for pre-season.
"Denis Casey and Stuart Barker have been great for me and hopefully I will be fine for the start of next season.
"We are all really looking forward to next season and I think we are a club going forward. You always want to do better than the season before and we have set high standards for ourselves. We haven't had the biggest of squads but we are all buzzing and looking to kick on again next season."
