CARDOZA PLEASED TO SEE FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE IMPROVING
Chairman David Cardoza is delighted that the club's financial performance is improving.
"The figures that are coming out shortly are historic and in 2008 we have made big inroads again into our losses," he said.
"We are still losing money but things are going in the right direction.
"The club still needs funding and really without the re-development we aren't going to be able to push on as much as we'd like. We need better facilities but until we get the re-development we are where we are.
"When you take into account the changes we made last summer together with the sale of Bradley Johnson to Leeds I think the next set of figures will probably show a loss of less than £500,000.
"We are very fortunate that we've got some fantastic staff here and everyone is pulling in the right direction. We are a small hard working dedicated team and we are definitely making inroads.
"When we sell a player the reason we put it out as an undisclosed fee is not to pull the wool over anybody's eyes, it's just a way of doing business. If we put out the amount we've sold a player for then go to buy another player the club we are trying to buy that player from will know exactly how much money we've got to spend. The decision not to announce fees is not to annoy anyone or be secretive, it is just in the best interests of the club."
