Stuart Gray returns from holiday this weekend in readiness for the players to return to pre-season training. The players report back to Sixfields on Monday morning.

Although the Cobblers boss and the staff have found time for a holiday this summer, they have also all been busy with their preparations for the six week pre-season period.

"I am looking forward to getting started," said the Northampton Town manager.

"The players have been following their summer schedules and a lot of pre-season planning has been going on, planning the training we will be doing and I am looking forward to Monday when the players return.

"Things certainly aren't finished in terms of signings, obviously we are looking to bring in more players and we will be working on that behind the scenes continuously.

"I'm looking forward to getting everybody to gel together again and re-creating the kind of mood I would like in the dressing room, and that is the kind of spirit we had last season because I know that can be very important. The good thing is that most of last season's squad are still here and that means it will hopefully be a case of picking up where we left off and challenging ourselves to try and do even better if we can.

"As we stressed last season, no single person does it all and no one person is responsible for the club's success or otherwise. It is a combination of team work and hard work and it is important we get that right, but it is a team game and team spirit and hard work can get you a long, long way."
