"We've still got 15 points to play for and until it's mathematically impossible we want to have a last surge to try and get into the play-offs," said the Cobblers boss.
"It'll be a difficult game against Luton but we want to get the three points because they've done the double over us this season.
"They beat us in the league and in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy so it's a chance for us to get one back over on them.
"At this stage of the season though teams at the bottom of the league tend to play with nothing to lose and we've seen in recent weeks that the likes of Luton, Gillingham, Bournemouth and Port Vale have all been picking up good results.
"We had a great opportunity to push our season on but unfortunately we failed to do that against Forest and Carlisle.
"We've got a few players who are out of contract in the summer but I'm yet to sit down with the Chairman to discuss the budget for next season.
"Once I've had that conversation with the Chairman I will then sit down with the players but as a footballer you are always playing for your future in the game and the last thing you want at any football club is for complacency to set in.
"As for my own situation I've seen the speculation but I know nothing about it. I've still got more than 12 months left on my contract and I'm happy here and until I'm told any different by the Chairman I will just carry on as normal."
