MINISTER FOR SPORT BACKS SIXFIELDS RE-DEVELOPMENT BID
Sports Minister Gerry Sutcliffe MP has got behind Northampton Town Football Club's bid to re-develop Sixfields.
In a letter to the club, Mr Sutcliffe wrote, "First Class facilities are a key driver in the Government's targets for increased participation in sport and as such I am pleased to learn of your plans for the stadium and to note Northampton Town's continued commitment to working with it's local community.
"The Cobblers have a great reputation in the football world for their outstanding work in the community. There is no doubt that with improved facilities they could deliver even more for the local community in and around Northampton.
"I wish Northampton Town Football Club well in its goal of improving the facilities currently on offer at the Sixfields Stadium."
