Northampton Town's reserves were beaten 2-0 at Luton Town in the Pontins Holiday Combination on Tuesday afternoon.

Chris Dunn, Alex Dyer, Liam Dolman, Jonathan Hayes, Colin Larkin and Ian Henderson were all in Ian Sampson's side and although the general performance was acceptable for the Cobblers coach, he was frustrated by the number of chances passed up by his team.

"We had more than enough chances to have won the game," he said.

"We created a host of opportunities and certainly should have got something.

"We were 1-0 down with a few minutes to go when Luton scored their second thanks to some inexperienced defending on our part, but by then we really should not have been chasing the game."
