Northampton Town's season ticket sales for 2008/2009 are showing a big rise on the figures for the same period last season.

The end of the discount period 12 months ago saw just over 1,600 season tickets sold. This year, the club sold 2,056 season tickets before the discount period closed, meaning that already around one third of all home supporters seats for next season have been sold.

"I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has purchased a season ticket," said Chairman David Cardoza.

"We have been very encouraged by the response and we are on course for a record year.

"I know that a lot of people like to wait and see who we will be bringing in before deciding whether or not to commit to a season ticket, and we are hoping they will be convinced by what goes on in the summer.

"I am sure they will agree with me that the signing of Gabor Gyepes for next season is an excellent start, and that is a sign of our ambition for 2008/2009 and beyond."

In addition to the above figure, there are corporate season ticket sales and packages which have not yet been counted.

Those who have purchased a season ticket on-line via www.ntfc.co.uk are reminded that season tickets are now ready for collection. Anyone not in the adult category should please bring proof of age/status when collecting.
