BENJAMIN GOAL HELPS UNDER 18S WIN AT BIRMINGHAM
The Cobblers under 18s kicked-off their pre-season campaign on Tuesday with an impressive 2-1 win at Birmingham City.
Sean Parrish's side secured victory with a Joe Benjamin strike adding to an own goal.
"This was a good work out for us," said a delighted Parrish after the game.
"Considering this was our first match in pre-season I was very pleased with the performance we put in and we can take a lot of positives from this game.
"Everybody got at least 45 minutes under their belts and although in pre-season the result isn't everything it is always nice to get a win.
"We picked up a couple of knocks and bruises but nothing too serious and we look forward now to our next game which is at Lilleshall."
