GOODALL AND MAUDE ON TARGET AS YOUTHS BEAT READING
Northampton Town's youth team continued their build up to the new season with a 2-0 success over Reading at Oakham School.
Shaun Goodall opened the scoring with a penalty, before Sam Maude (pictured) completed the victory with a delicate chip.
"It was a good work out and a good performance against a youth set up that has plenty of quality," said Youth Team Coach Sean Parrish.
"We played 3 periods of 30 minutes and I am sure all of the lads really benefited from the game.
"There are some fantastic facilities at Oakham School and this game was another important part of our pre-season build up.
"We would like to say thank you to Reading for their assistance. Our goalkeeper Jake Suckling was injured so we borrowed a keeper from them for the game. The match was played in a very good spirit and we wish Reading well for the season ahead."
