UNDER 18S CONTINUE UNBEATEN START
Northampton Town's youth team maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-1 victory at Barnet on Saturday.
The Cobblers fell behind early on, and were grateful to goalkeeper Jake Suckling for making some fine saves in the first half, but they came back to win thanks to goals from Joe Benjamin and Shaun Goodall.
"We made a sloppy start but we came back well," said Youth Team Coach Sean Parrish.
"After we had got level at 1-1 we started keeping the ball better and after going ahead we had to stand up to a lot of pressure from Barnet. It was not pretty at times but we showed excellent commitment to deal with the long throws and the set pieces that were delivered into our box.
"I was very pleased with the commitment and the determination we showed to get a result."
