Northampton Town's youth team travelled to Cheltenham Town on Saturday for their latest fixture in the Football League Youth Alliance Cup.

The Cobblers were beaten 4-0 leaving coach Sean Parrish disappointed, but looking for a response from his players.

"We started on the back foot and we were 2-0 down after 10 minutes," said Parrish. "That obviously gave us a mountain to climb but we created enough chances throughout the game to have claimed at least a draw, even though we let in 4 goals.

"The lads stuck to their task well and we know that in the weeks to come we have to start games better and be more ruthless in front of goal. We had a long unbeaten run at the start of the season and we want to get back to those sort of results as soon as possible. Character is just as important in judging a young player as skill, ability and attitude and we are looking for character from these boys to bounce back next week."
